Sergeant Pilot 49 Bomber Squadron operating from Scampton (H.P. Hampdens. 1) AD788 EA V, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Shot down over Kiel 26th June1941. Aaged 25. Three crew members killed and one taken prisoner Son of Charles Basil and Rose Mary Ray of Madras, India. Included on Peacehaven War Memorial. Buried in Kiel War Cemetery, Germany.

Inscription on Grave in Telscombe Churchyard "In loving memory of my dear husband Charles Basil Gray Died 6th November 1939 and of our beloved son Sgt. Pilot Charles Lawrence Gray who was killed over Germany on 26th June 1941. Age 25"

Flight Sergeant/Navigator/Wireless Operator, 305 (Polish) Squadron Mosquito FB V1 LR 262 SM Q, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. The Aircraft crashed on return from operations over France and the Pilot, Flight Sgt Basil Hogg and Flight Sgt. Alan Tucknott were both killed 24th September 1944. Aged 22. Son of Jesse Newnham and Mabel Gertrude Tucknott. Husband of Elsie May Jesse Tucknott of Deptford, London. Included on Peacehaven War Memorial Buried in St. Lawrence Churchyard, Telscombe.
