Birth registered in the July to September Quarter 1893 in Haverfordwest Registration District, Pembrokeshire. In the 1911 census he was a Servant to George Lester, aged 17, a Domestic gardener, born Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and resident Southover, Burwash, Sussex. In the 1901 census he is listed as John Charles POLLENTINE, aged 7, son of Thomas (a Coachman) and Selina Jane Pollentine, born Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, resident St Brides, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales (search engines have him as PALLENTINE but this is a misreading of the original census).
