Oxon, enlisted Oxford. Son of Thomas and Hannah Blencowe, of Mixbury,
Brackley, Northants. Buried in BAILLEUL COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION,
NORD, Nord, France. Plot I. Row D. Grave 42. |

Sergeant 10674, 5th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light
Infantry. Killed in action 12 July 1915. Born and resident Brackley,
Northants, enlisted Coventry. Buried in POELCAPELLE BRITISH CEMETERY,
West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot LVII. Row D. Grave 12. |

WAR CEMETERY, DOUVRES, Calvados, France. Plot IX. Row D. Grave 2. |
| DUNKLEY | Robert [Henry] | Sergeant
(Air Gunner) 1608128, 51 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
Killed in action in a Halifax III, serial number LV865, flying out
of Snaith, Yorkshire, when the aircraft swung off the runway and
crashed into a hut on take off at Snaith when setting off on a raid
on Boulogne, the rest of the crew survived, 17 September 1944. Aged
20. Born 6 March 1924. Son of John Geoffrey and Alice Mary Dunkley,
of Northampton. In the 1939 Register he was single, helping on farm,
resident with his parents at Town Farm, Mixbury, Ploughley R.D.,
Oxfordshire. Buried in MIXBURY (ALL SAINTS) CHURCHYARD, Oxfordshire. |
