Alick Charles

Major. Born 31st July 1894 in Limassol, Cyprus, the son of a British Army Officer. He married his wife, Angela, in Jerusalem in 1922 where he was working for the Government of Palestine and Trans Jordan. Thye had three children, Cynthia, Charlie and Diana. He took a commission after the start of the Second World War serving in Palestine throughout the campaign before moving back to Cyprus in 1948 when the State of Israel was created. Died 30th August 1974 as an indirect result of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. His wife died a few weeks later and is also buried in the British Cemetery at Polemidia. .
