See http://www.uboat.net/allies/warships/ship/5482.html Known as Harry he was one of 10 children to Hugh and Mary Robinson of Church Street, Hibaldstow. He attended Broughton School and before his naval career he worked as a Railway Porter at Elsham Station near Brigg. He volunteered for the Royal Navy in 1938. He met his future wife Barbara Widowson who was a WAAF stationed at Kirton in Lindsey and they married in the Parish Church Hibaldsotw. He was serving on board H.M.S. Bullen when she was topedoed and sunk in the waters of Scapa Flow in the Orkneys. He was rescued and still alive when brought onto land, he was given a cigarette after his ordeal, but he was later to die of "the bends". He left a widow and a nine month old daughter.
