The memorial for Hibaldstow is to be found on the exterior wall of the War Memorial Club, West Street, Hibaldstow. The memorial was unveiled 22nd January 1922. The architect was Mr jeffrey and the builder Mr Watmough; details appeared in the Scunthorpe Star 28 January 1922.

Born Messingham, enlisted Scunthorpe and resident Messingham, Lincs. Commemorated SOISSONS MEMORIAL. Or John William Altoft. Private 267685. 2/6th Battalion, West Riding Regiment. Killed in action 18th April 1917, aged 32 years. Son of Emma Altoft of Brigg, Lincs. Enlisted Brigg, Lincs. Commemorated MORY ABBEY MILITARY CEMETERY. I.B.13.
CASH	Hugh Ruston	Sergeant L/8272. C Bty, 152 Bde, Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action 3rd May 1918, aged 26 years. Son of (the late) G.H and Rachel Cash of Westfield House, Hibaldstow, Lincs. Born Hibaldstow, Lincs and enlisted Nottingham, Notts. Commemorated MORBECQUE BRITISH CEMETERY. Plot 1. Row F. Grave 1.

CUTHBERT	Edgar	Private 12/344. 12th Battalion, York and Lancaster Regiment. Died at home 12th October 1914, aged 29 years. Son of (the late) John and Drusilla Cuthbert of West End, Hibaldstow, Lincs. Born North Kelsey, Lincs, enlisted Sheffield, Yorks and resident Lincoln, Lincs. Commemorated HIBALDSTOW (St Hibald) CHURCHYARD.
FLEAR	Fred	Private 50297. 15th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment). Killed in action 27th September 1918, aged 22 years. Son of John Flear of Town Hall Passage, Kirton in Lindsey, Lincs. Born Blyborough, enlisted Brigg and resident Kirton in Lindsey, Lincs. Commemorated PERTH CEMETERY (China Wall). III.E.16.
KIRMAN	Thomas	Private 40116. 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 21st March 1918. Born Hibaldstow Cliff, enlisted Gainsborough and resident Kirton in Lindsey, Lincs. Commemorated POZIERES MEMORIAL. Panel 23 and 24.

Born Scawby, Lincs, enlisted Chesterfield, Derbyshire and resident Hibaldstow, Lincs. Son of John and Elizabeth Williamson, of Hibaldstow, nr. Brigg, Lincolnshire. COOK	E F	Possibly Ernest Frank Cook. Trooper 7927748. 51st Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps. Died 14th September 1944, aged 23 years. Son of George Scarborough and Eliza Cook, husband of Mary Cook. Commemorated GRADARA WAR CEMETERY. II.A.38.

MARGETSON	Arthur Sydney	Private 4533326. 7th Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment. Died 7th August 1944, aged 34 years. Son of George Edward and Rose Margetson, husband of Ruby Margetson of Brandy Wharf, Lincs. Commemorated FONTENAY-LE-PESNEL WAR CEMETERY, Tessel. I.B.17.
ROBINSON	Herbert Harry	Leading Seaman CSSX 26977, H.M.S. Bullen, Royal Navy. Son of Hugh and Mary Robinson; husband of Barbara Elsie Robinson, of Nottingham. Died 6th December 1944, aged 26, interred Plot P Row 4. Grave 21. Lyness Royal Naval Cemetery, Orkney See http://www.uboat.net/allies/warships/ship/5482.html Known as Harry he was one of 10 children to Hugh and Mary Robinson of Church Street, Hibaldstow. He attended Broughton School and before his naval career he worked as a Railway Porter at Elsham Station near Brigg. He volunteered for the Royal Navy in 1938. He met his future wife Barbara Widowson who was a WAAF stationed at Kirton in Lindsey and they married in the Parish Church Hibaldsotw. He was serving on board H.M.S. Bullen when she was topedoed and sunk in the waters of Scapa Flow in the Orkneys. He was rescued and still alive when brought onto land, he was given a cigarette after his ordeal, but he was later to die of "the bends". He left a widow and a nine month old daughter. This information was supplied by his siter Rosemarie Borrell of Hibaldstow in 1998. [Information kindly supplied by Pat Horton]

WELCH	Maurice Bernard	Welsh on CWGC. Private 4986137. 5th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment). Died 2nd September 1944, aged 21 years. Husband of Vera Welsh of Hibaldstow, Lincs. Commemorated MONTECCHIO WAR CEMETERY. IV.D.18.
WRIGHT	Douglas Percival	Lieutenant 138049. Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment) attd Kings African Rifles. Died 15th October 1943, aged 25 years. Son of John Thomas and Alice Wright of West End, Hibaldstow, Lincs. B A (London). Commemorated COLOMBO (Liveramenlu) CEMETERY. 1.P.3.
WRIGHT	Leslie	Trooper 326601. A Sqn, Nottinghamshire Yeomanry, Royal Armoured Corps. Died 24th October 1942, aged 23 years. Son of John Thomas and Alice Wright of Hibaldstow, Lincs. Commemorated ALAMEIN MEMORIAL. Column 30.
