of John Clarke (below) born 12 September 1884, in Saxby, Lincs.
Enlisted between 1915 and 1916 in the Lincolnshire Regiment as a
Private. The back of his marriage certificate (August 1916) is stamped
"Lincolnshire Territorial Association". Served in 1916
as Private, 28th Provisional Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment, stationed
at Tillingham, Essex; then in 1917 as a Private in the 13th Battalion,
Lincolnshire Regiment (farm labourer) and finally in 1919 as a “waggoner
on farm", Private in the 553rd Agricultural Company, Labour
Corps. Father of Reginald Charles Clarke who died World War 2 (see
above). Died 25 August 1960 in Essex. |

Margaret Jane Hannath in 1908. Service in World War 1 unknown. Father
of Reginakd Hannath Clarke who died World War 2 (see above).
In the
1930's known to be a gardener at Hackthorn Hall. Died 16 December
1960, Hackthorn, Lincs. Buried Hackthorn. |
