This memorial covers the men from East and West Barkwith villages for World War 1 and 2. It can be found at the A157 junction, in East Barkwith, with the road leading to East Torrington. It takes the form of a cross made of Portland stone on an octagnoal plinth situated on a three stepped base. The whole is surrounded by concrete in an octagona; shape which in turn is surrounded by gravel with flower beds and a chain link fence surrounding the whole. The inscription spreads across four sides of the plinth. The memorial was first dedicated by local clergymen and unveiled by Colonel The Honourable George Heneage in May 1921; it cost £80, the builder was Mr A Woodward. Details can be found in the Lincolnshire Chronicle 7th May 1921. There are 13 names for the First World War and 4 for the Second World War.

BLACKBURN	James	Military Medal. L/Corporal 13421. 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 4th October 1917, aged 22 years. Son of F and Betsy Blackburn of Low Langton, Lincs. Born South Kelsey, enlisted Louth and resident Wragby, Lincs. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL. Panel 35 to 37 and 162 to 162A.
BRACKENBURY	Harold Edward	Private 42881. 2/5th Battalion, Manchester Regiment, formerly 39649 Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 7th October 1917. Born Barkwith and enlisted Louth, Lincs. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL. Panel 120 to 124 and 162 to 162A, 163A.
CODD	Edmund John Broughton	Sergeant 19195. 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 23rd October 1916. Son of Wilson and Sarah Jane Codd of Osgodby, Lincs. Born Osgodby, enlisted Lincoln and resident Osgodby, Lincs. Commemorated BANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY. IV.L.15.
DENNY	Robert Edmund Barry	Private 28612. 16th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment). Died 22nd May 1915, aged 24 years. Son of Barry and Emily B Denny of Barkwith House, East Barkwith, Lincs. Born Wragby, Lincs. Commemorated BETHUNE TOWN CEMETERY. IV.C.49.
EVERTON	Ernest	Private 201792. B Coy, 4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 8th June 1917 (3rd on memorial). Son of Rose Everton of Malt Kiln Cottage, Goltho, Lincs. Born Langton, enlisted Lincoln and resident West Barkwith, Lincs. Commemorated AIX-NOULETTE COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. I.F.14.
EVERTON	Fred	Private 40384. 4th Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment, formerly 26202 South Staffordshire Regiment. Killed in action 23rd April 1917. Born Langton, enlisted Lincoln and resident Wragby, Lincs. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL. Bay 6.
HORNER	Charles James	Private 9548. 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 24th August 1914. Born East Barkwith, enlisted Lincoln and resident East Barkwith, Lincs. Commemorated LA FERTE-SOUS-JOUARRE MEMORIAL.
GREEN	John	Private 201919. 2/5th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment. Died of wounds 6th May 1917 (3rd on memorial). Born Martin, enlisted Lincoln and resident East Barkwith, Lincs. Commemorated HEM-LENGLET COMMUNAL CEMETERY.
ROBINSON	Joseph Robert	Private 10947. 1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards. Killed in action 14th June 1915 (13th on memorial). Born Welton, enlisted Lincoln and resident East Barkwith, Lincs. Commemorated GUARDS CEMETERY, Windy Corner, CUINCHY. IX.A.27.
PRESCOTT	Harry	Private 39319. 3/5th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. Killed in action 10th October 1917, aged 20 years. Son of Mrs Mary Jane Prescott of East Barkwith, Lincs. Born East Barkwith and enlisted Lincoln, Lincs. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL. Panel 54 to 60 and 163A.
SMITH	Walter	Corporal 16710. 6th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 10th October 1918, aged 23 years. Son of Mr and Mrs Henry Smith of West Barkwith. Born West Barkwith, enlisted Lincoln and resident West Barkwith, Lincs. Commemorated NAVES COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. I.C.11.
WEATHERHOGG	Tom	Shoeing Smith 99463. B Bty, 15th Bde, Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action 4th April 1917. Enlisted Lincoln and resident Barkwith, Lincs. Commemorated FAUBOURG D’AMIENS CEMETERY, Arras. II.O.11.
