| BALL | Wilfred Albert | Private 1314, 2nd Battalion, Australian Infantry, Australian I.F. Died of wounds 3rd July 1916. Age 23. Son of Benjamin and Daisy Ball, of Bourne End, Boxmoor, Hertfordshire. Born at Westminster according to CWGC but Autsralian Roll of Honour states Cappoquina, Co. Waterford, Ireland. Fruit farmer by trade also trained as a book binder. Educated at Victoria School, Berkhamsted. Enlisted Lower Portland, New South Wales, Australia. Emigrated to Asutralia aged 21. Was in the Boy Scouts. His mother, Daisy Ball, is given as lving at, on the Australian Roll, 4D Orchard Street Estate, Westminster, London SW1. Buried in ESTAIRES COMMUNAL CEMETERY, Nord, France.
