HMS Invincible was an Invincible-class battlecruiser built Newcastle 1908; the ship took part in the Battle of Falklands that revenged the loss of HMS Good Hope on 7/12/1914. At the Battle of Jutland on 31/5/1916 Invincible took a direct hit on Q turret, unfortunately the anti-flash devices between the turrets and the magazines failed and an enormous explosion ripped the ship in half; there were only 6 survivors, 1021 crew were lost. Indefatigable and Queen Mary were also lost that day with only 22 people saved and Rear Admiral David Beatty remarked 'There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today'.
