Lance Corporal 109122, 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles Battalion. Died of wounds received in action 1 April 1916 in No. 1 Canadian Field Ambulance (Gun Shot Wound Right Lung). Aged 26. Born 17 October 1892 in Llanishen, Cardiff. Son of George William and Janet Florence Drury, of "The Lozells," Lisvane, Llanishen, Cardiff. Farmer by trade. Unmarried at attestation. Attested 27 November 1914 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, aged 23 years, height 5 feet 10 inches, weight 146lbs, chest 33½-35 inches, dark complexion, dark blue eyes, dark brown hair, religious denomination Church of England. Emabtrked at Folkestone for France 24 October 1915. Appointed Lance Corporal in the field 3 January 1916. He had three siblings - two brothers and a sister. His sister was a teacher who went to live with her brother in Neath where he was a Bank Manager; they both died in Neath. Buried in MAPLE COPSE CEMETERY, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot I. Row F.
