The memorial is to be found in the grounds of St Mary’s Church, Great Henny. It takes the form of a plain Latin cross on tapering plinth and two stepped base. There are 13names for World war 1 and one for World War 2.

BARNARDISTON, CB, MVO	Nathaniel Walter	Major General, General Staff and Duke of Cambridge’s Own (Middlesex Regiment). Died 18 August 1919. Aged 60. Order of the Rising Sun 2nd Class (Japan). Commander of the Orders of Osmanieh, Dannebrog, Sword, Leopold and St. Olaf. Son of the late Col. Nathaniel Barnardiston, of The Ryes, Sudbury, Suffolk, and of Lady Florence Barnardiston. Served in the South African War with 2nd Bn. Middlesex Regt. Commanded British troops at Capture of Tsingtao (1914). CB, MVO. Buried west of the church in of ST MARY CHURCHYARD, GREAT HENNY, Essex.
BARNES	Henry [George]	Private 15835, 11th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Died of wounds 25 April 1918. Aged 21. Born Henney (sic), enlisted Sudbury. Son of George Barnes, of Petfield Green, Little Henny. Buried in the south-west part of ST MARY CHURCHYARD, GREAT HENNY, Essex

HUMM	Frederick [Leonard]	Lance Corporal S/22794, 8th Battalion, Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort's Own). killed in action 11 October 1917. Aged 38. Born Sturmer, enlisted and resident Stratford, Essex. Son of Joseph and Anne Humm, of Great Henny, Sudbury, Suffolk; husband of Mahala Humm, of 131, Vicarage Lane, Stratford, London. No known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 145 to 147.
HUMM	Edward [John]	Private 25115, 5th Battalion, Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire Regiment). Died of wounds in Mesopotamia 30 March 1917. Born Henny, enlisted Stratford, Essex, resident Sudbury, Suffolk. Formerly 21871, Hampshire Regiment. No known grave. Commemorated on BASRA MEMORIAl, Iraq. Panel 30 and 64.
SYCAMORE, MM	Alfred	Corporal 8251, 11th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action 23 September 1916. Born and residemnt Great Hagbush, enlisted Warley. Awarded the Military Medal (M.M.). No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 10 D.
TUFFIN	Bertie	Private 17435, 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment. Killed in action at Gallipoli 6 June 1915. Aged 34. Born Middleton, Essex, enlisted Sudbury, Suffolk, resident Henny. STILLINGFLEET	Harold [Caley]	Lance Sergeant 107533, 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles Battalion. Died 6 June 1916. Born 22 July 1871. Games warden. Served in the South African War (Boer War). Brother of F V Stillingfleet of Hampton, Chelsmford, Essex. Married. Attested and passed fit 8 December 1914 at Victioria, British Columbia, Canada, aged 43, hright 5 feet 8 inches, girth 41 inches, complexion fresh, eyes blue, hair dark brown; religious denomination Church of England. There is a plaque on the wall inside the church reading: TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF ADMIRAL THOMAS BARNARDISTON, SON OF NATHANIEL C BARNARDISTON, OF THE RYES, SUDBURY, SUFFOLK. BORN DECEMBER 4TH 1833. DIED JANUARY 21ST 1907. INTERRED AT KIRK HAMMERTON, YORKS. ENTERED THE ROYAL NAVY 1847, SERVED IN THE BURMESE WAR 1853, IN THE BALTIC FLEET DURING THE RUSSIAN WAR 1854-55 AND IN THE ABYSSINIAN WAR 1868. "THESE MEN SEE THE WORKS OF THE LORD AND HIS WONDERS IN THE DEEP."
