Abney is a hamlet in Hope parish, Derbyshire, standing by a tributary of the river Derwent. The memorial is located in Abney Village hall in the centre of the village; the memorial is actually within the village on the east wall. It takes the form of a wall-mounted, oblong, brass plaque on a wooden backboard with chamfered edges with a thin red latin cross at the head of the plaque and a thin incised border coloured black. The inscription is incised in black coloured black lettering, with two names with rubricated initials. The memorial was surveyed in 2015 and was found to be in good condition.
