Private M2/200572, Mechanised Transport, Royal Amy Service Corps. Died on service in East Africa 13 May 1918. Born Kingston-On-Thames, resident Newport Pagnall, enlisted Bletchley. In the 1881 census he was aged 3, born Long Ditton, Surrey, resident with his parents, Charles and Martha Gubbins at Village Coach House, Private House, Long Ditton, Kingston, Surrey. Buried at DAR ES SALAAM WAR CEMETERY, Tanzania. Plot 5. Row J. Grave 10. There ia a memorial plaque at the rear of church:
