Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action 30th April 1916 recorded as
1st May 1916. Aged 41. Born and resident Mount Sorrell, Leicestershire,
enlisted Warwick. Son of Alfred Henry and Sarah Ann (nee Bailey)
and first cousin of Sgt Harry Bailey. Formerly 6671, Royal Warwickshire
Regiment. Buried in Mazingarbe Communal Cem. Extension, Pas De Calais,
France. He is also commemorated on the Mount Sorrell war memorial
and Cherington Memorial |

Private
23663, 10th (Service) Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. Killed
in action 27 June 1916. Aged 21. Born Stourton, enlisted Stow-on-the-Wold.
Son of David & "Bess" (née Elizabeth Hunt)
of Stourton and first cousin of Harry Bailey. Buried in Loos British
Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. He is also commemorated on the
Cherington Memorial

with his brother Albert (above) on 9 October 1917 in 3rd battle
of Ypres. Born Snowshill, Gloucestershire, resident Cherington,
enlisted Stratford-on-Avon. No known grave. Commemorated on the
Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. He is also
commemorated on the Cherington

poss. son of Charles & Sarah A. Jarrett.] Unknown grave. Commemorated
with more than 72,000 others on the Thiepval Memorial. He is also
commemorated on the Cherington

(Prince Albert's). Died of wounds 24 October 1918. Aged 18. Born

"Son of the late Thomas Jarrett of Stourton" [1901, haulier,
wife Elizabeth][1901, aged "2".]. Buried in Estaires Communal
Cemetery Extension, nr. Armentieres, France. He is also commemorated
on the Cherington Memorial
