memorial is to be found on the wall of the south area (Lady Chapel),
St Helier Parish Church (Town Church), Church Street, St Helier, Jersey,
Channel Islands. It takes the form of a bablet with a dedicatory inscription
and the names in two columns. The Jersey Coat of Arms in red and gold
is set between the two lists. There are 24 names listed.

Consort's Own). Killed in action 2 July 1915. Aged 32. Son of the
Very Rev. G. O. Balleine, Dean of Jersey, and Mrs. Balleine. Fellow
and Sub-Rector of Exeter College, Oxford. Formerly Scoutmaster of
5th Oxford Troop. Afterwards commanded for five years a large Scout
camp each summer drawn from Oxford, South London, Pulborough and
Sevenoaks Troops. In the 1891 census he was the son of George Orange
Balleine and Florence Balleine, aged 8, born Oxfordshire, a scholar,
resident Deanery, David Place, St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands.
In the 1901 census he was the son of George O Balleine (a widower),
aged 18, resident born England, resident 8, David Place (The Deanry),
St Heliers, Jersey, Channel Islands. Ex-sub rector of Exeter College,
Oxford 1902. Buried in BEDFORD HOUSE CEMETERY, West-Vlaanderen,

NOTES
ON OFFICERS.
Second-Lieut, Donald Franklyn Hubert, Indian infantry, killed,
was the eldest son of Mr. S. J. Hubert, of Victoria Crescent,
Jersey, and was born in 1895. He was educated at Victoria College,
Jersey, and Sandhurat, which he entered in September, 1913,
as a prise cadet. At the outbreak of war he joined the Royal
Inniskilling Fusiliers in Ulster, being transferred later to
the let Royal Irish Rides, with whom he went to Francs, where
be was wounded at the battle of Neuve Chapelle. He returned
to Ireland in July, 1915, and, having originally passed out
of Sandhurst for the Indian Army in September, he was ordered
to India and attached to a infantry regiment. In the autumn
of 1916 he went with the regiment to Burmah, and, volunteering
for active service, was ordered to the front, where he fell
on March 14.
